Kinetic Motion

So I finally did it. I finally went to a dance class. And I loved it! I realized that it has been at least 4 years since I have danced. I was so surprised at how natural it was to take off my shoes and let my soul dance. I know that sounds cliché but I cannot express to anyone how much dancing is a part of me. Every muscle in my body is still telling me this morning that I need to dance more or I will feel like this every time I decide to take a class. Although it is amazing that even though I have lost a lot of my flexibility that my muscles and body were still able to move the same way they did 4 years ago (they just don’t feel quite the same afterwards). I almost feel so ungrateful that after having so many opportunities of studying with the greats or taking workshops from the likes of Tito (New York), Virginia Tanner’s dance school, Martha Graham’s studio (New York), Broadway Dance Center (New York), Alvin Ailey (New York), Repertory Dance Theater, Odyssey Dance Theater, and The Edge (Los Angeles) and then for some reason just stopping. Needless to say I am going to try to take advantage of the cheap community dance classes and allow myself to get lost in dance again.

Good for you! Everyone needs an outlet and dance is a fun, healthy one.
