I broke down

I did it. I finally broke down. I ordered a copy of Breaking Dawn. I have no idea when it will arrive but I am expecting it much sooner than I could get it from the library. I had made up my mind that I wouldn’t purchase the book especially since I rarely read a book twice. And until I move into a bigger house, I don’t have space for my already large collection of books. So I have been depending on the local library. However, lately I have been getting more and more frustrated because the books I want to read seem to have long waiting lists. For example, months ago I placed a hold on Breaking Dawn but I ended up being number 75. So I figured I wouldn’t get it until December or next year. Now I see the hold list is up to 200! So I broke down. I ordered it online for a good price. I am justifying it because I will have a few long travel days coming up in which a good book will be necessary. I also don’t want anyone to spoil the ending for me. Plus, I am just fed up with the library.

Good splurge!! I never buy books either...for the same reason as you, but when you have travel days coming up, and you are guaranteed to like the book, then I say it's TOTALLY worth it! Way to go...I hope you love it...and maybe I can rent it from you sometime around December, when I'm finally on that last book (right now I'm only half way through book #1)...I'll probably be a while. :)

Yeah, I wasn't planning on buying it (at least til it's out in paperback) because I figured I would just borrow it from a friend. BUT, I know I'll pick it up at Costco on Saturday when I see stacks of them sitting there waiting for a home. :)

I ashamed to admit I haven't read any of them yet. But I just got the first 3 for my birthday, and I'm really looking forward to them with everyone's great reviews. As for too many books, just ask the people who helped us move two years ago. And I got rid of a ton while we were packing...I don't know that you can ever have too many. :)
