I want to start off by saying neither Neil or I grew up with cable or satellite television. I always had the opinion that it was something for "rich" people. Well, where we live in Logan we can't even get local channels. So when a very convincing salesman came by our house offering us a fabulous deal on satellite television, we went for it. Let me also add, that we don't even have internet at our house. So this was a splurge. But I have to admit, I love all the potential shows I could watch. Then, a few weeks ago a very convincing ad came in the mail offering a deal that we could add a DVR package for less than what we were spending now. So we splurged.
Yesterday, was the big install day. Like children on Christmas morning, Neil and I went through the listings of shows and decided which ones to record. How exciting! Now, I can catch the shows I always miss because I don't have time to watch them. The best part is that you can even rewind, pause, and fast forward live television. I love technology! Last night, while watching a show, we decided to make popcorn. Instead of drawing straws as to who had to miss the show to make the popcorn, we paused it! We didn't miss a minute. Then we got to fast forward through the next set of commercials.
Technology hasn't always been great to me but I will save that for another day. Because today, I love technology!

I'm jealous you have DVR. That's something I want at some point. But it does make me worry that I would make time to watch way too much tv.
It would be nice to have little shows for Jessie to watch when I needed a moment of peace and quiet though. :)
I love love love my DVR...it is totally worth every penny! Of course having a DVR does kind of make me a slave to about a gazillion tv shows that are all my favorite that I have to watch every single week!? I'm such a sucker!
