I love casual Fridays. I've worked a lot of jobs with various dress codes. But this is my first job that has casual Fridays. Our dress code during the week is actually pretty relaxed as well--just wear nice pants. But now that I only get to wear jeans on Fridays, it becomes a novelty. Plus, it's Friday and we get off an hour early.
My very first job I got to wear whatever I wanted. I cleaned an apartment complex in the "bad part"(seriously, the 7-11 attendant on the corner was behind bullet proof glass) of Salt Lake at the age of 14.
Then at 15 at worked at Taco Maker in K-Town. I had to wear an ugly red polo shirt that was too big and black pants with black shoes. Plus, a blue apron and a blue visor. The visor was the worst. We only wore them when the manager was in.
Then when I was 16-19 I moved up in the working world and worked for Lagoon as the safety/security dispatcher. I just had to wear something "nice." So I got to wear nice pants, skirts, etc. Which was so much better than the jungle shirts all the other employees had to wear.
At 20 I worked as a custodian for Heritage Halls at BYU. I did what I had to do to get through college. I just had to wear clothes that I didn't care about ruining.
21 brought me my first "real" job. I worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a management trainee. I had to wear business suits, heels, hair pulled back, not too much jewelery. Definitely, the strictest dress code ever. But I have to admit I still love my business suits, that are now collecting dust in my closet.
22 I worked for a textbook composition company. No dress code. I liked being able to wear capris and flip flops in the summer.
Now, here I am enjoying casual Fridays.

ohmygosh, I feel the exact same way! It's so funny how excited I get about getting to wear jeans on Friday!? Not that the dress code is strict around here, but oh, how I love to wear jeans! :)
